Sony Ericsson, Handango partnerSony Ericsson and Handango announced a worldwide partnership to bring mobile content direct to consumers on all Sony Ericsson smartphones — the XPERIA X1 and devices running Symbian UIQ.

Under the agreement, future Sony Ericsson’s smartphones (XPERIA X1 included) will come preloaded with Handango’s InHand client, using which customers will be able to easily browse and buy smartphone applications.

As for the existing Symbian UIQ smartphone device owners, they will be able to access Handango’s catalog via their handset’s browser (http://mobile.handango.com/se-ota) from July 25, 2008.

Commenting on the announcement, Handango’s CEO, Bill Stone, said: “The global content and application market is experiencing tremendous growth as more and more mainstream customers enter the marketplace, and with nine years gathering experience and knowledge in the mobile content industry, no one can touch Handango’s expertise.”
