Jumptap gets $26 Million in Series D FundingJumpTap has announced a Series D round of funding, of over $26mn! JumpTap is apparently the leading mobile search and advertising company – aha, that explains the huge amount of extra money then, since every man and his dog are keen to capitalise on the burgeoning online advertising market, be it “online” or “on-mobile”.

“Internet advertising is currently growing at a compound annual rate of 18.3% and will reach $73 billion in 2011. What is really exciting about mobile advertising is its ability to eclipse Internet advertising,” said Dan Olschwang, President and Chief Executive Officer of JumpTap.

JumpTap has had a number of successes recently, including NBC Universal, Fox Mobile Entertainment, and some Mobile Network Operators. It already partners 17 MNOs, and a stack of Content Providers.

My take on this one is that $26mn should see them far in to the space where we can see if all this ultra-hype Mobile Advertising stuff is going to play out for all the investors in the value chain…..
