Sony says get Play TV and use with your PSP!

Sony's Play TV for PS3/PSP

Sony Play TV for PS3 and PSP

Sony very kindly emailed me the other day to suggest I might like to purchase Play TV for the princely sum of £69. Actually this isn’t a bad price for a “Freeview” (DVB-T) dual tuner box. There are some nice features, such as a great EPG, and record/trick-play, but what really caught my eyes was the PSP link.

With some further digging it appears Sony made much of this PS3 to PSP transfer feature pre-launch, then pulled it, then re-instated it. For a lot of people, it makes perfect sense to be able to watch shows you have recorded on the move, particularly given the multimedia heritage of the devices.

Well I’ll let you know if I decide to go for it, but right now I’ve got to figure out if I can fit a good aerial to my house to even pick up the Freeview signal – certainly in the UK, DVB-T has been beset with problems around the quality of signal, meaning you need an uber-aerial… not something that is particularly attractive around the house!
