Alongside Sprint, Verizon has announced that they’ll be launching the BlackBerry Bold 9930 at the same $249.99 on contract price point, only on August 25 rather than the 21st. This lines up with the rumours we had heard earlier, which means the dates for other Verizon handsets, like the Torch 9850 on September 1 and the Curve Sedona on September 15 are probably accurate too.
The BlackBerry Bold 9930 is pretty much identical to the 9900, except it’s running on an EV-DO network rather than HSPA+. It’s got a 2.8 inch 640 x 480 touchscreen, classic QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera with 720p video recording and LED flash, though it sounds like some sacrifices to the focusing mechanism have been made to keep the phone slim. The processor is a beefy 1.2 GHz and is backed up by 768 MB of RAM, but don’t expect to be using all of that for applications. For a full tour of the device take a look at our hands-on video.
