Cricket’s latest addition to its family of Android smartphones is called the Samsung Transfix. The Transfix has a  full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, which makes this consumer-friendly to those out there who love to text and surf the Web. Other noteworthy features include:

  • 800MHz processor
  • 3.2-inch touchscreen
  • 3.2-megapixel camera with camcorder
  • microSD slot with up to 32-gigabyte expandable memory
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Discussing the release of its new mid-level Samsung Transfix, Matt Stoiber, vice president and general manager, devices for Cricket in a release said:

“The Transfix features an easy-to-use slide out keyboard that makes messaging a breeze. Combined with its affordable price we believe the Transfix will be attractive to our customers looking for an Android device.”

The Transfix doesn’t blow off the socks of many power phone users out there, but it’s perfect for those who don’t care about having a 1.5 GHz processor — it’s tailored for the more price-conscientious. Lately, lots of carriers have been targeting potential customers with these mid-level Android handsets. The Samsung Transfix is available now for $179.99 in Cricket branded retail stores, dealers and at www.mycricket.com.
