Verizon Wireless’ HTC Thunderbolt will be getting a new software update soon. Just how soon, we’re not sure, but considering this is a bug-fixing release (rather than the full-blown Ice Cream Sandwich firmware), I guess we/you won’t have to wait for too long to get it.
Here are the issues software version 2.11.605.9 will address:
- Resolved issue with contact ringtones.
- Improvements to notification volume.
- Update to the local streaming playback mechanism when network connection is not available.
- Updated Twitter API for Peep/FriendStream (part of Sense UI)
- Clock app included in All App list.
- Improvements in Exchange ActiveSync.
The OTA update is a 36MB heavy download, and you can already check whether it’s available for your particular Thunderbolt unit. Simply tap “Settings” -> “Software update” and then “Check for new software.” Hopefully, it’s there – but even if it isn’t, we’re pretty confident you’ll get it within the next couple of days…
