Motorola and T-Mobile Going Green with the T-Mobile MOTO W233 Renew

A leaked photo has appeared of the new T-Mobile Renew (you may remember the T-Mobile Renew on a leaked roadmap shot here). The device is set to be one of many devices launched by T-Mobile in the first quarter of 2009, with a launch this coming February.

By the looks of things, the Renew is a candybar… and it’s ‘proper name’ is actually the MOTO W233 Renew. The device is apparently made from environmental friendly materials… No doubt the reason the leaked shot comes in that lovely green color.

“Exclusively from T-Mobile, the environmentally responsible MOTO W233 Renew is uniquely designed to reduce environmental impact by using sustainable materials in its design and packaging while at the same time delivering performance and quality customers rely on.”

I hope the device will come in other colors, but don’t be surprised if green is your only option… This is after all, a ‘green’ device! The device itself is pretty standard/basic, but if it is anything like the W231 (a previous gen device which looks to be almost identical), the W233 should feature MicroSD card support, FM radio with RDS, an MP3 player and some more solid basic features.

Pricing details are still unavailable, but I’d expect more exact specs to drop by mid to end of January. Stay tuned.
