Barnes and Noble offering $50 gift cards with purchase of Nook Tablet

Nook Tablet shipments reach million units

It looks like Barnes and Noble is the first tablet maker to get the Nexus 7 memo, as it’s looking to give potential customers $50 gift cards with purchase of its Nook tablet. This deal makes perfect sense because it’s just in time for the back-to-school sales to roll out, and it also undercuts the impressive Google tablet (which has 16GB model priced at $249).

Now, before you head over to your local Barnes and Noble or the company’s website (nook.com), you should know that this deal is only eligible for purchases of the 16GB version of the Nook. Right now, people who purchase their tablets in-store will receive the $50 gift card on the spot, while those who take the lazy route via the website, will get the credit by way of email.

The 16GB Nook tablet cost $249 (before the $50 gift card), and the deal will expire at the end of the month on July 29. So, if you’re interested, I’d suggest you get to the store or website and get your Nook while supplies last.

If you plan on taking advantage of this deal, or skipping it to purchase a Nexus 7 instead, please let us know in our trusty comment section below!
