AT&T announced an entirely new line of Samsung Android phones and tablets today, one of them being the Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro. It’s a ruggedized smartphone built for people who either need a device that can survive under extreme measures or are just plain clumsy.

The Rugby Pro is shock resistant, dust proof, and waterproof up to one meter deep for up to 30 minutes. This qualifies it to meet military specifications. The phone itself as seen in the image above looks like it can take a beating and hold its own.

As for the regular specs, the Rugby Pro features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with a 5MP rear-facing camera that shoots up to 720p HD video. There’s a good chunk of details AT&T is leaving out for now such as processor speed and storage. From the image, it appears the phone is running at least Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. For business users, the Rugby Pro includes EAS corporate email support, device encryption and Enhanced Push-to-Talk.

Pricing and availability for the Rugby Pro is unknown, but AT&T did state that it would arrive alongside the other new Samsung devices “in the coming months.”
