AT&T announces Samsung Rugby III – PTT compatible rugged phone

While I’ve personally never owned a rugged phone in the my life, one feature that I always seemed to go hand in hand with these devices is push-to-talk? Why? Not not a clue, but that’s exactly what AT&T and Samsung have done with the new Rugby III.

The Rugby III is Samsung’s 5th generation rugged handset and will be available on December 14th for $99.99, if you currently have a business account with AT&T, you can pre-order the device starting tomorrow. To make the deal a little sweeter for businesses, with a new Enhanced PTT plan and a new two-year contract, the Rugby III will be free.

Sure, the handset isn’t going to turn many heads or impress much of anyone, but its purpose is there and some businesses need features that the Rugby III offers. Also, since this is a rugged handset, it’s been built to military specifications, making it waterproof (submersible up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes), dust proof, and shock resistant.

So if you’re looking for a new handset for your business, or just want to be that person with PTT, don’t over look the Samsung Rugby III!
