Samsung offers quite a few Android smartphones but despite that it manages to release timely firmware updates. How they do it (and even more importantly – why other companies fail to do that) is beyond me, but we gotta praise them for the effort.

One of their latest gigs is to bring Jelly Bean update to the Galaxy S Advance, which if you recall is a device that sits somewhere between the original Galaxy S and Galaxy S II. It does have a dual-core processor which seems to make it eligible for Android 4.1, though it packs just 768MB of RAM.

According to Samsung Germany’s Facebook post, the update is coming in January and it will be available both through Kies and over-the-air. Nothing too specific, but then again promising enough for all Galaxy S Advance users out there.

Also waiting in line to get Android 4.1 (and even Android 4.2) are Galaxy S II and the original Galaxy Note…
