NEC Medias Tab UL N-08D is an amazing device and one of those products most of us won’t be able to buy. Again, it’s a Japan-only product and it’s likely it won’t make it to the Western hemisphere.

There are 2 things that make the NEC Medias Tab UL N-08D an amazing product:

  1. At 250 grams, it’s the world’s lightest 7-inch tablet
  2. It comes with awesome haptic technology

The second thing is pretty interesting. The technology called HD Reverb is used to create complementary haptic effects in real-time. So when you’re watching a video, the device knows when to vibrate and (even more importantly) how much vibration is needed. I watched a fireworks video as a demo and was pretty amazed with what this tech can do.

As for the rest of specs, NEC’s baby sports a 7-inch WXGA (1280×800 pixels) touchscreen, Qualcomm’s MSM8960 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, dual cameras (8.1MP on the back, 2MP front-facing one) and 16GB of built-in storage. Check out few hands-on photos we took…
