AT&T Kills Quickfire?

Oh, Quickfire, we hardly knew thee. AT&T’s cheap texting phone launched a few short months ago is now getting canned due to “not meeting AT&T’s minimum performance expectations”, according to an internal memo demanding a freeze on all sales. Jeez, the note even uses the word “quarantine” when referring to existing stock. Was it that bad? Really? Maybe it just didn’t sell, or maybe it’s glitchy, who knows what they mean by “performance”. We had a few Brits looking forward to this thing, but if AT&T is already giving the Quickfire the boot, odds are slim that the UTStarcom handset will jump the pond.
