HTC updates HTC Touch Pro firmware, fixes bugs

htc-touch-pro-updateCan’t shake that eerie feeling that your HTC Touch Pro is crawling with bugs? Fear not, phobic cellphone user, HTC has just released a new firmware update that should eradicate a lot of those creepy, crawly bugs from your HTC Touch Pro.

HTC says this update should fix your Touch Pro’s tendency to muck up the picture-taking experience with mis-focused photos and wacky preview screens, fix a bug that has TouchFLO 3D stalling on start-up and should rid speed up any slow-to-respond displays when ending a voice call.

Unfortunately, the HTC Touch Pro update is unbranded and the installation page warns against updating your carrier-locked HTC Touch Pro (such as an AT&T Fuze):

This is a generic software update. Any additional software or settings provided by your mobile operator or company will be lost. If you require this customization, please contact your supplier first before upgrading.

So unless you’re rocking an unlocked Touch Pro or just don’t care about things like Sprint TV or AT&T Video, you might want to wait for your local carrier to work their magic on the Touch Pro update before making the jump to a new firmware.
