These videos make me very happy indeed. Buttons are so old school, letting people manipulate their data via touching it really will be a revolutionary interface. Now those videos were more bling then reality but the basics are still there. The people in the club touching their phones to exchange data, the guy viewing images by selecting them, these are all examples of the direction we should be heading in. I’m already beginning to develop thicker skin on my thumbs thanks to the joy stick on my E61.

I want to make a clear distinction that I don’t think touching with a stylus is the future, touching the screen is. When I was going pda shopping, the closest competitor to the Nokia E61 was the Treo 680. If the Treo had a larger keyboard and wifi, while still being $400 then I wouldn’t have gotten my E61. That says something.
