ROK Entertainment Group and the company behind the global community-based WiFi network, WeFi, launched mobile portal called WeROK, with an idea to provide mobile phone users with an array of services such as low-cost SMS, mobile email, free mobile TV, and mobile social networking.
At the moment, WeROK is designed as an application for Symbian S60 smartphone, but it can also be accessed through a computer. We’ve no doubts that, if proves successful, other platforms will get dedicated apps in the near future.
Commenting on the announcement, ROK Entertainment Group’s Jonathan Kendrick said: “WeROK is a unique development and a giant leap forward in mobile and web convergence. It’s an advertising-funded mobile services application which enables handsets to automatically and seamlessly access Wi-Fi zones in order to route mobile activities via the Internet.”
