theChanner is the Spain-based company that makes mobile application which brings streaming TV on a mobile phone, very similar to Spb Software’s Spb TV. You can discover/browse TV channels through an easy to use interface. Moreover, when you find an interesting or an awful channel, you are free to rate and/or leave a comment; or recommend it to a friend. This way the community is built around the service, where members recommend what’s cool to watch and what’s not to each other.
At the moment, there are around 300 available channels from around the world, and theChanner plans to add more of them in the coming months. That’s for Windows Mobile users, only, but they look to expand to other platforms such as iPhone, Symbian, Android and so on.
As for the money making part of the equiation, theChanner wants to make money out of advertising…
