Fantastic interview, weighs in at a little under 14 minutes. I took some notes to give you a rough idea about what is being discussed.

S60v3 FP2 will definitely be displayed at 3GSM.

The goal of FP2 was to make the interface more intuitive and easier to use.

There are animations between screen transitions, making it more fluid.

The performance has increased. [More snappy?]

Active Idle: Several layouts. User can select several pictures that will rotate at a specified time interval for the wall paper. News ticker service that is operator controlled. [What about user control?]

User doesn’t have to select MMS or SMS, phone is smart enough to know what to do.

Phil brings up the iPhone! S60 is very functional but the "wow side needs to be addressed" says Mikko.

New features operators will like:

  • Email sync: both OMA and Active Sync support.
  • Push To Talk (PTT) will come with FP2 since it has become a standard.

Open C is the "biggest news" of FP2.

FP2 includes Java MSA JSR 248 Subset support.

Flash Lite 2.1 is supported.

You can not upgrade your current phone to FP2. Stop asking, Nokia isn’t going to make it happen.

Memory management has been redone. Demand Paging is the new technology behind FP2.

2H 2007 will be when phones with this OS will hit the market.
