Symbian Exchange and Exposition (SEE) 2009

What used to be known as the Symbian Smartphone Show is now called Symbian Exchange and Exposition (SEE). It’s a two-day event which takes place at Earls Court 2, London on 27-28 October 2009 and “simultaneously at different locations around the world.”

From the official announcement letter, we read that the free to attend event is envisioned to be “much more than a traditional trade show.” What that exactly means is something we’ll have to see while there. We do, however, know that Symbian Foundation plans to launch an interactive forum called Symbian Exchange at the event. The idea here is to allow attendees to contribute and develop ideas around the future of mobile with fellow developers, device creators, industry leaders and mobile enthusiasts.

Talk and panel sessions are also included, and will involve such visionaries as Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, and “Crossing the Chasm” author, Geoffrey Moore.

Finally, there is the exhibitions space which will feature over 100 exhibitors from all across the ecosystem – network operators, handset vendors, mobile application developers, component suppliers, and content providers… More information is available from here.
