Sure, we have no launch date on the BlackBerry Storm 2 yet, and we really have no clue what OS the touchscreen beauty will be running. I think we’ve all assumed it would be running a variant of OS 5.0… and today, we might have some confirmation, albeit kind of rumor-ish.

The boys at BlackBerryOS have received word from a Verizon tipster that OS 5.0.0.212 has been approved for the Storm 2. The tipster also went on to say that Verizon dearly wants to get the device out by the end of September, but more realistically an October launch is what we’re looking at. In fact, they want to go no later than the third week in October. This makes sense, as earlier in the month we got word that the Storm 2 would be released for business users at the end of September, with a general release in Verizon stores in mid-October. Looks like everything is lining up nicely here.

So, that’s it for the Storm 2 rumors for today. OS 5.0.0.212, and a likely early-mid October release. You pumped yet?
