Since RIM went all Pac-Man on Chalk Media, we’ve been waiting to see what exactly RIM would to with corporate podcasting company, and today’s update update is the first fruit of that relationship. If you haven’t heard of them before, Chalk basically enables managers to send pertinent media (video, audio, or otherwise) to their teams’ BlackBerrys, keep an eye on who has seen what, and gather feedback through testing mechanisms. With version 5.4, Chalk’s enterprise-grade mobile media broadcasting service has burrowed deeper into the BlackBerry Enterprise Server by allowing admins to to change polling intervals for sync management through the native BES interface. Even end-users can have some control over pushcast policies. New SSL encryption has upped the standard for pushcast security, and they’ve also included more traditional podcasting technology via RSS, with the added bonus of being able to designated approved subscribers. Finally, support for OS 5.0 will let Chalk play nice with the latest and greatest BlackBerrys available. Hit up Chalk for more info.
