Rumor: AT&T will lose iPhone exclusivity on Wednesday [iTablet/iSlate/iPad day]

An “inside source”, which we all know is about as trustworthy as a 30 year old woman living on the streets with an addiction to crystal meth, has told Hot Hardware that on Wednesday, the day Apple is going hold an event and finally bring to orgasm all the Apple Tablet fanbois after one of the longest foreplay session in recorded history, AT&T will lose their iPhone exclusivity.

If true, it would mean that Apple could start selling the iPhone unlocked, similar to how they already do in Australia, and several European and Asian countries. That would be awesome for people like me to refuse to sign contracts, and it would be awesome for T-Mobile who is the only other GSM provider in the United States. Verizon and Sprint use CDMA so Apple would have to design a new iPhone to run on those networks.

This ties in very well with what I’ve been reading on the net that the tablet will supposedly run on both AT&T and Verizon, meaning it has a Qualcomm Gobi radio inside. That being said, I still believe that the iSlate/iTablet/iPad doesn’t exist and on January 27th I’ll be proven right.

If I’m wrong then the Rapture is going to happen. Stock up on your bibles people!
