Motorola has quietly rolled out the A45, an eco-friendly slider with a modest QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD memmory card slot, and quad-band EDGE. The kicker is that 70% of the A45 can be recycled, and 25% of it is made from recycled plastic bottles. The blocky style looks a lot like the Hint; maybe if it had kept the crazy motocubo name this phone had in Brazil, it could stay a little more differentiated. The only other Motorola phone to really be green is the Renew, but there’s a bunch more of similar handsets hanging out in our eco category if you’re into that kind of thing. Interested? You can nab the A45 unlocked for $159.99 from Motorola’s online store. Who knows, maybe a carrier will pick this up at some point and subsidize it.
