HTC goes old-school – rebrands Panda handset as HTC P6300

HTC P6300 PandaHTC’s going back to the good old days. Remember when Windows Mobile phones were all about having the latest EDGE data connection and Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Edition was the baddest OS there was? Yea, so does HTC. Apparently, in their nostalgic haze, the company has decided to re-brand the original Panda (the XDA Argon from O2) as the HTC P6300 and start pushing these things in 2007. With Windows Mobile 5.0 and a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900Mhz) radio with EDGE, this thing is no performer, but at least the P6300 gets a 256MB memory boost over the old Panda.

The P6300 has that old school charm with some (albeit few) modern feaures. If you need some help reminescing about the old days, maybe this feature-set can give you a hand:

  • Tri-band GSM/GPRS
  • 128MB RAM / 256MB ROM
  • 400MHz CPU, Bluetooth
  • Wi-Fi
  • IrDA
  • 2.0-megapixel camera
  • 3.5″ QVGA touch
  • SDIO/MMC slot
