Quickoffice Premier 4.5 released; Promises near-desktop level functionality

Quickoffice just released the new version of its popular mobile office tools for Symbian S60 3rd edition smartphones. Going forward from the previous release, the version 4.5 promises to deliver near-desktop level functionality, especially if you’re using the Nokia E90 Communicator with large screen and the full QWERTY keyboard. Improvements in the new version include overall increased usability and stability level, performance optimization for handling large documents, added multi-language spell checking, Series 80-style keyboard shortcuts, sharper fonts optimized for easier reading on smartphones, support for live voice notes in PowerPoint. One thing Quickoffice forgot to include is the support for Microsoft Office 2007 XML-based files, though that seems easily upgradable with their Quickmanager.

Interested? The so far best mobile office suite for Nokia smartphones costs $49.99 and you can count that as a money well spent. Hack, even the always critical AllAboutSymbian’s Steve Litchfield sees it as “hugely impressive.” 🙂
