We love it when the little guy gets a boost. T-mobile USA, the 4th largest wireless carrier in the US, has just posted their Q2 2007 earnings and performance results – and it looks like they’re doing just fine. With 857,000 new subscribers in the second quarter of 2007, T-mobile easily outpaced 3rd place Sprint Nextel’s 400,000 new customers. T-mobile’s Q2 growth fell a little short of the 1 million new subscribers that signed up in the first quarter of this year.
With a total of 27 million subscribers, T-mobile USA reports that 80% are postpaid subscribers. Average revenue per user increased $1 to $53, with ARPU for data bumping up from last year’s $5.70 to a very respectable $7.80.
It looks like T-mobile is on the up and up. If they can keep outpacing Sprint in subscriber growth, the #4 carrier might soon take over the #3 spot.
