New version of Jaiku for Symbian S60 based devices had been released. Beside fixing many of the known bugs, the new manual and improving the overall usability of the application, the new version also packs many new features.

New version of Jaiku S60 client released

The main push of this release is to let you bring the rich conversation to the mobile client. Earlier, Jaiku users relied on their website for rich conversation, but now that’s about to change. Apparently, you’ll find bothering with a web version quite unproductive.

Other new features include:

  • The choice between longer battery life or more up-to-date presence.
  • Reading and writing comments from and to your contacts.
  • History – you can see what your contacts were doing in the past, not just their most recent post.
  • Flickr support – now you can see when your contacts have uploaded a new image.
  • Improved presence view, to make the most of your screen real-estate.
  • More optimal data transfer and connection maintenance, giving you more bang for your wireless data dollar.

It seems that after this release, Twitter just won’t do the job for S60 users. Download Jaiku for free, and tell us what you think — is it really one of the most polished S60 apps out there?
