BBC News Android app gets a small update, widgets included

BBC has updated its already solid Android app with few handy features. First, widgets are now included, allowing you to access the top news without starting the application. You can choose between small and big widgets, and browse the news headlines from within them.

Then there are improved personalization options so you can reorder the news categories the way you want it. Moreover, the new BBC News app allows you to store it on the SD card. There’s one caveat though – if you decide to do that, you won’t be able to use BBC widgets (it’s the restriction of Android and has nothing to do with BBC).

Finally, should you happen to be in area where the news is happening, you can send stories, video and photos directly to the BBC News team. Who knows maybe the network picks your footage or comment and make you famous for a brief moment…
