With the hot-new Samsung Galaxy S4 now available from Sprint, the carrier is pushing Sammy’s last year flagship to its wholly owned no contract subsidiaries, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. It’s still unclear how much the Galaxy S III will cost sans any long-term commitments, with Sprint wowing to release pricing information at a later date. We got our hands on a few new Kyocera handsets today at CTIA 2013 in Las Vegas, one of them being the ruggedized and waterproof Kyocera Hydro Edge. It’s predecessor, the Kyocera Hydro was announced last year at CTIA 2012 in New Orleans. The Hydro Edge continues Kyocera’s ruggedized, waterproof mid-range smartphone model, and brings it up to 2013 with more powerful specs and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Known for his inside leaks, twitter member @evleaks is back again with a rumor that suggests Sprint-subsidiary Boost Mobile is getting the iPhone later this year. His simple tweet says “iPhone to Boost Mobile in Q3.” If true, Boost would become one of several prepaid carriers offering the iPhone, joining carriers like Virgin Mobile, which is also owned by Sprint, and Cricket, a division of Leap Wireless. Sprint-owned Boost Mobile may emerge as the first U.S. carrier to offer one of LG’s F-Series devices, namely the F7. Announced during this year’s Mobile World Congress, it’s basically the beefed-up version of the L7 with built-in LTE connectivity. This in turn will make it Boost’s third 4G-enabled device, after HTC One SV and Boost/ZTE Force. The MVNO today introduced a $15 per month add-on that allows its users to call every single landline and mobile number in the country of Mexico immediately.
