Contact UsAs technology moves forward, our gadgets keep getting thinner. 12mm, 10mm, 8mm, 7mm… and now we have a phone that’s just 6.65mm thin, which gives it the title of the “world’s thinnest smartphone.” It’s not anything from Apple, Samsung, Motorola, HTC, or any vendor you might expect. It’s from Chinese mobile phone brand Oppo. Its name is the Oppo Finder. It’s an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. It has 16GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM for support. On the front is … Read more
The BlackBerry form factor, better known as portrait QWERTY, doesn’t get a lot of love these days from handset vendors. Nearly every major device that’s been announced during the past half decade has just a giant slab of glass. What are people who want to use their thumbs going to do? Enter the Huawei M660. Discovered by the folks at Unwired View, this smartphone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, has a 3.2 inch screen, a keyboard that looks like it stolen from Canada, and … that’s about it. Supposedly it’ll launch … Read more
Huawei released a device called the Sonic about a year ago that shipped with Android 2.3, came with a 3.5 inch 480 x 320 display, 3.2 megapixel camera, 600 MHz processor, GPS/3G/WiFi, and all that jazz. According to Android Community, it’s going to hit T-Mobile USA this coming Sunday as the Prism. They don’t know how much it’s going to cost, but if we had to take a guess we’d say it’s likely going to be free with a two year contract. To give you an idea of how cheap … Read more
When it comes to Windows Phone manufacturers, one notable company has thus far refused to dip their toe into the water: Huawei. That’s soon going to change according to WPDang, who says that the Chinese handset maker has assembled a team of 70 engineers to work on a pair of Windows Phone 8 devices. One of them will use many of the components of an existing Android phone, and it should cost around $315. The other will be based on an all new design, with a screen that’ll measure over … Read more
SA Studios Global and MetroPCS unveiled the Huawei M835 Sanctioned by tokidoki, a special-edition Android handset designed by the Japanese-inspired cult apparel and accessory brand tokidoki. In recent years, tokidoki’s cult status has fueled high-profile collaborations with Karl Lagerfeld, New Era, Hello Kitty, Levi’s, Smashbox cosmetics, Xbox, Skullcandy and others. So it’s no surprise that art collectors (and now mobile operators) around the world are jumping on this “ultimate collaboration.” Unfortunately though, tokidoki branding doesn’t make the Huawei M835 any better. It’s still an entry-level Android smartphone with specs that … Read more
Huawei announced that its sexy-looking Ascend P1 smartphone will be available in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Australia through operators and retailers by May 2012, in Latin America from June 2012 and in Europe from summer, with other markets to follow. If you recall from our previous writing on the subject, the Ascend P1 is available in two flavors with one of them (P1 S) being the world’s thinnest smartphone with dual-core processor. That CPU, in case you wonder, is TI’s OMAP 4460 clocking at 1.5GHz. Aside from that, the Android … Read more
Roughly 8 months ago, Google announced their intent to purchase Motorla Mobility for $12.5 billion. Since then we’ve been waiting for governments around the world to green light the acquisition, and nearly everyone has signed off on the deal, except for China. Google’s official statement regarding the reasoning behind the purchase of Motorola Mobility has always about one thing: patents. What most people forget to consider is that Motorola Mobility also has roughly 20,000 employees spread out across 90+ countries. What’s Google going to do with them? According to The … Read more
Cricket is expanding its Muve Music offering to an additional device – Huawei Mercury, which rest of the world knows as Huawei Honor. Existing users can get service via over-the-air update, whereas new customers will get the same treatment in the near future. If you’ve been living under a rock, you should know Muve Music is the first unlimited music service to be included as part of a wireless rate plan. Aside from all the music you can get, it also comes with nationwide calling; unlimited text, picture, video messaging … Read more
Huawei, the Chinese handset vendor we love for the sole fact that they release rock solid budget Android devices, is trying to break into the high end space. Last month at Mobile World Congress they announced the Ascend D Quad. Now barring the ludicrously idiotic name aside, on paper it’s actually quite an interesting smartphone. It’ll come with a 4.5 inch 720p display, an 8 megapixel camera, a quad core processor that Huawei designed themselves, and best of all there’s an XL version that has a slightly thicker body to … Read more
T-Mobile’s myTouch line has always been a hit or miss affair. The latest entries from LG could be thrown into the “Miss” category, with previous devices like the myTouch 4G a big hit (for the time). Now it looks like Huawei is up to bat, as we now have a picture of the next myTouch handset coming to Magenta. While T-Mobile’s myTouch phones have varied in manufacturer, style, and specs, one thing has always remained, and that’s the Genius button. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: The … Read more
Not only did Huawei bring the world its own quad-core processor that will ship in the upcoming Ascend Quad HD, but its booth was probably one of the most ridiculous we’ve seen this year at Mobile World Congress 2012. Ridiculous in a very good way, though. Basically one side of the entire booth was a screen (on the ceiling and the floor), which showed off some of its new products. Huawei may not be in the same league with the likes of Samsung but along with ZTE, Huawei is pushing … Read more
