EA Mobile Announces Command & Conquer Red Alert for iPhone; Available Oct. 23

Red Alert iPhone

Yesterday we reported on a big name EA title making it’s way to the iPhone later this month, Rock Band iPhone.  It seems that wasn’t all of the news EA Mobile had to share with us.  It seems another high profile title is going to be receiving the iPhone treatment.

Command & Conquer Red Alert for the iPhone will allow players to play across 12 combat levels as both Soviet and Ally factions, manage and command multiple units on the battlefield, and feature the ability to build your base and manage supplies with an “easy-to-use combat system”.  Depending on how easy the system is to use on the iPhone platform is yet to be seen, but since RTS games use heavy point & clicking, I don’t see as how the game could fail.  The real test will be how “easy” it will be for players to take control of all of the action while still knowing what exactly is going on in the rest of the map.

No price has been revealed, but you can expect Command and Conquer for the iPhone / iPod Touch to be released on October 23.

Zeemote

Zeemote, the folks behind the mobile gaming controller, announced a new version (actually that’s a variation) of its product. It’s marked as Zeemote V3 and it’s especially optimized to work with Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) handsets — including the upcoming Yari, Aino and Satio, as well as the eco-friendly Naite.

In addition to providing easier gameplay, the Zeemote V3 can also be used for navigating phone menus, interacting with apps, controlling camera, web surfing, music and video playback, and more. Plus, with the Aino you can use the Zeemote to control some functions of the PS3…

You can get more information about Zeemote and their products from their website.

1 BAND clean1 Rock Band coming to iPhone with 4 way Bluetooth multi player mode!Rock Band is on its way to the iPhone! Forget everything you thought you knew about beat-matching music games on the iPhone, EA Mobile’s Rock Band is by far the best in its class. We had a chance to sit down with EA Mobile at CTIA WITE 2009 to get a sneak-peek at Rock Band for iPhone, and it’s looking good. The game gives you the option of playing on your own, taking a world tour (as you unlock points for new songs) or jam with up to four of your iPhone friends in person or over the internet. Linking up for 4-way multi-player mode is done over Bluetooth, so you don’t even have to worry about finding a hotspot to get your jam on!

The iPhone port of Rock Band gives the gamer the same look and feel as the console version – graphics, gameplay and sound effects are all very familiar. Just like the console version, Rock Band for iPhone offers four different instruments to play – bass, guitar, drums and even vocals. The game comes loaded with 20 songs, all of them master versions from the real-life band (no cover songs). And, with in-app purchases now supported on the iPhone OS 3.0, Rock Band for iPhone will allow you buy new song packs directly from EA Mobile. How sweet is that?

[Update]
There’s no hard launch date set, but the game is going in for AppStore approval within a week. After that, it’s up to Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) to pull the trigger.

Keep reading for our sneak-peek video of the upcoming Rock Band iPhone game!

Cocoto Kart Racer for iPhone

After releasing Cocoto Kart Racer for Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii, the game is now coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch near you, packing 12 different drivers, 5 environments, crazy bonuses, grand prix and online battle mode.

Apparently (according to the press release), players that have received preview version of the game have given very good impressions and compared the game to the online mode of popular Mario Kart.

The controls have been adapted to the iPhone, providing both tilt control and console-like controls with on-screen pad. Bonuses are activated by shaking the device.

Finally, Cocoto’s key feature is the mentioned online mode that allows you to compete with other players around the world, which is cool. The price is $0.99 and the AppStore link is here

Chess for Android: Checkmate!

Chess for Android Chess for Android: Checkmate!

For some reason, whenever I pick up a new device, gaming console, or any other kind of electronic gizmo… I always look for new games. And without fail, among them is the time-tested, brain-busting game of Chess. I always enjoy a game here and there against the computer AI or a live opponent to get the brain-a-workin’ when I need a boost.

Thankfully for me and other Android-device owners, I happened to come upon a chess app for Android a little while ago. The game is fairly straightforward, yet has some nifty features including ’suggest a move’ (if you need some help) and an ‘auto-play’ mode that lets you watch the computer do battle against itself.

For all the details, check ‘er out in the App Market or hit up the developers’ blog.

Derek Jeter Real Baseball Will Soon Bring America’s Past Time To iPhone

By Daniel Perez on Monday, October 5th, 2009 at 11:34 AM PST
In AT&T, Apple, Gaming, Videos, iPhone, iPhone OS

As a Cuban-American, Baseball has always been a sport that I have a deep passion for.  Not only is it America’s past time, but it’s also a beloved sport for Cubans.  You can’t go a day walking through Havana without hearing a couple of Cubans discussing Baseball passionately, which usually includes a lot of arm flailing and cursing at one another.

Gameloft announced Derek Jeter Real Baseball will soon be hitting the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) App Store this month.  The game currently is the best looking baseball sim available on the App Store, with all characters in full 3D as well as stadiums.  The realism doesn’t stop there as Derek Jeter Real Baseball features audio commentary and fan reactions to your plays.  Not only could you feel like a jerk for letting a fly ball go over your head, but fans and the announcers will also make sure you are aware of your apparent jerkiness.

iPhone Game of the Day: FIFA 10 by EA

fifa 10 iphone iPhone Game of the Day: FIFA 10 by EA

If Real Soccer 2010 just isn’t cutting the mustard for you, FIFA 10 for iPhone might be your answer. In the latest edition of the soccer game from EA, you can play as one of 570 teams in 30 leagues from around the world. 12,620 players have also been licensed for inclusion in the game, and you can try your best to take down one of 20 tournaments and cup competitions.

Game controls are actually quite easy and intuitive. You can even control the ‘tempo’ of the game with the accelerometer. Game play is viewed from 6 different camera views, each in full 3D.

Of course, there’s a cool WiFi Multiplayer Mode built-in as well that allows for head-to-head matches for you and your friends. There’s also a ‘Be a Pro’ Mode that lets you create your own star, and track play through multiple seasons. Earn skills, score goals, and advance your career!

The only downside to the FIFA 10 is the price. Unfortunately it clocks in at an expensive $9.99. However, any soccer die-hard will probably want to pick it up, especially if they own other FIFA games for other platforms or consoles.

Check out FIFA 10 in the App Store (iTunes link).

pspgo1 PSPgo has arrived!

Yep, for all you UK gamers, who like a device that is portable, and that you can also hook up Skype calls on – this might just be the device for you!

No-one (well perhaps only a few people) will have escaped the mighty hype juggernaut that is the Sony PR machine, touting their latest offering in the form of the PSPgo – it’s an updated/upgraded version of the PSP, and would appear to be packing all the required elements (except analog sticks – where they at dawg?).

Sony are particularly keen to punt the PSPgo in the UK, and so are offering a copy of Gran Turismo for free on download if you get a PSPgo before October 10th – that’s 5 days away – so if you wanna buy, buy soon methinks…

…the PSPgo is available from all good retailers and online. More info generally on the PSPgo here.

Canabalt Runs, Skips, And Jumps To iPhone App Store

Canabalt iPhone

IntoMobile readers, meet Canabalt.  Canabalt, this here be IntoMobile.  Now that we’ve got all of these pleasantries out of the way, allow me to inform you, the reader, why Canabalt will take over your life now that it’s available on the App Store.

Canabalt is a game with a simple premise: see how far you can get while avoiding obstacles.  The premise is made even more simple when the game only has one button which allows the player to jump.  The game also has a simplified black & white graphics scheme that comes to life with the animations that take place such as pigeons flying from the rooftop as you run past them.

With such a simple game design like that, it’s safe to say this is one game that’s well worth your $2.99.
