Announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Sagem-made Puma Phone is finally hitting retailers around the world. The device that’s focused on sport activities will be available in select countries of Europe (Germany, UK, Italy, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Romania, Macedonia and Slovenia), Africa (Uganda, Madagascar, Kenya, Mauritius, Cameroon, Botswana, Tunisia and Senegal) and the Middle East (UAE) in the coming days and weeks, with other markets to follow in the near future.

Specs wise, the Puma Phone rocks a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, GPS and compass, HSPA connectivity, 3.2-megapixel camera that’s coupled with a front-facing VGA camera (for video calls), microSD memory card slot, and a solar panel on the back of the device that’s used for charging the battery. More importantly, there are quite a few apps pre-installed for media playback, web browsing, email and IM, and for keeping up with your workouts.

Puma Phone costs 399 EUR SIM free, though some operators could offer it subsidized on a contract…
