Dusan: While you want a quick reset, Symbian users crave for more power! Plus, I love concepts.

Free WillyHmm. What can I say – I’m stunned. Windows Mobile users seem to want a quick reset button. We (Symbian users) don’t want to reset our devices at all. Sometime when phone crashes I’m quite frustrated. Why – cause that shouldn’t be happening. I want even more power on my smartphone and I don’t want to see it crashing anytime. Still, as I’ve argued, it does happen from time to time. Not that often luckily.

Next, it’s nice to see HTC allowing update of their devices. I’m sure Will is just waiting for the updates to be released. Hopefully it will bring more stability and power to the Windows Mobile world. Not that I care much… But healthy competition is always a good thing. And healthy competition is what Symbian lacks. With more than 70 percent of a market share, we’re practically without serious competition. Still, other platforms are working their best to grab piece of our share…

Now the freebies. Well free Willy, we also have a tons of available apps (around 5,000 in total) for Symbian platform. Not as much as for Windows Mobile, but then again I really don’t enjoy Sudoku that much to have 10 different copies available at my disposal. 🙂

And finally the concepts. Will, don’t you just love the concept. Somehow, they make you wonder why the f**k handset makers don’t make such devices. It’s good to see peoples’ creativity at work. The bad thing is that not many of them reach the market anytime. Still, we can dream… Here are some concept I’ve enjoyed this week – Intruder, Roll Phone, Bracelet 2, Nokia 8900 and Radia cellphone concepts.

And that’s it for my today’s column. Will, we could make some “Get a Symbian phone” ads, where I would be a Symbian guy. Something like Apple did. That should be fun. 🙂
