Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 mention gets our hopes up!

xperiaThe Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is one spiffy smartphone. The exclusive Panel UI does a good job covering up Windows Mobile’s downfalls and the X1’s high-end styling and material quality made for an expensive handset that we could almost justify buying again. In fact, we very well may have to justify buying another XPERIA handset. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 just got a fleeting mention in an article about geo-location data provider Skyhook, and there’s also talk of the XPERIA X2 running Windows Mobile!

In talking about Skyhook’s lost business due to Google’s free geo-location service, we’re told:

“…that the company has lost a couple of deals because of free offerings. For instance, the X2 edition of Sony Xperia phone (Windows Mobile-based) uses geolocation data from Google.”

There’s really nothing much else to go on here, but if the rumor pans out, our wallets are in for another hit in the near future. Start saving that couch change!
