The HTC Touch Pro2 is tops in the enterprise smarpthone market. HTC made sure that their Touch Pro2’s slide-out QWERTY keyboard and huge touchscreen display were good enough to best the Nokia N97, as confirmed by IntoMobile’s own Nokia N97 vs HTC Touch Pro2 showdown. But, in that quest for business-phone domination, HTC forgot about one little detail that makes a huge difference – the 3.5mm headphone jack. The European unlocked GSM and the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 variants both lack anything resembling a standard headphone jack, forcing the user to use a headphone-to-extUSB adapter when listening to music on their own headphones. So, imagine are glee upon seeing Engadget‘s pics of the Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 hardware sporting a true 3.5mm headphone jack beside the extUSB port!
Aside from the Sprint logo, tweaked color-scheme and battery cover, and headphone jack, the Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 looks a lot like the unlocked GSM HTC Touch Pro2. But, with the addition of the lowly 3.5mm jack, the Pro2 magically morphs into a respectable media-phone. The Sprint Pro2 is still a sizable smartphone that would never get confused for a musicphone, but it should now hold its own against media-centric smartphones. Well done, Sprint!
