
The Indian Department of Telecommunications has missed a deadline to send out the formal invitations on the previously announced 3G license auction date, December 8th.
The official statement goes like this: “The government is in the process of finalizing the details to be included in the Notice Inviting Applications (NIA), which are being fine tuned. The NIA will therefore be issued shortly.”
The oft-delayed auction is expected to start on January 14th, if everything goes as planned. Apparently, the government has problems with reallocating spectrum from the Ministry of Defense to the civil sector, a fact that could lead to yet more delays…
