Trimble’s navigation app for outdoorsmen has just been updated for the first time since its launch earlier this summer. Sharing maps, photos, text, and audio notes is all still there, but on top of that, the new version offers cahced maps, allowing you to pull up potentially vital data when you’re outside of a coverage zone. Anywhere worth hiking will usually be well outside of cell tower range, so this feature seems like something of a necessity for anyone
serious about the outdoors. The user interface has been improved a bit, and video sharing has been tacked on, but the overall experience looks the same. Pick it up in the Android market (via that little QR code, if you’re feeling fancy) for $9.99, or find more info here.
