ShoZu, the software application that makes taking a picture of your cat doing something cute and stupid and then sharing it to all your internet friends scattered over the 10+ social networks you check on a daily basis for some artificial version of what is commonly known as affection, has been purchased by Critical Path. The press release is supposed to go live tomorrow, but it’s made it’s way on Mobile Industry Review a bit early. Thanks Ewan!
LONDON, January 5, 2010 – ShoZu, issued the following statement in conjunction with news of today’s acquisition of the award-winning social media hub by Critical Path, Inc., a leading provider of messaging applications and enterprise solutions:

Nigel Pilkington, ShoZu Board Director from SEB Venture Capital UK, said: “We are very pleased with the transaction and delighted with Chairman Chris Wade’s role in creating and completing this agreement. Chris came in on a day-to-day basis at a critical juncture when he took on the additional responsibilities of CEO in June 2009 and very quickly managed the company to a successful outcome for us.”

Now if you’re wondering who the fuck Critical Path is then don’t worry, you’re not alone. Their website has a cute little video demoing their product. It’s nothing more than your typical social network aggregator.
I don’t use either of these services, but my photo snapptastic friends have all switched to Pixel Pipe and it comes highly recommended.
