Andreas Constantinou, Research Director at VisionMobile, is a friend of mine and does the exact opposite of what I do. As opposed to pumping out multiple articles, 5 days a week, he’s an analyst who writes reports worth more than the laptop you’re using to read this and the laptop I’m using to write this combined. He hasn’t yet let me take a peak at his research, but he is always there for me when I want to have a brief chat about the a specific item of news and can provide a very thorough image of where we’re going to be in 6 months, 1 year, and further on out.
What he is working on now is a survey of mobile developers, whether that be iPhone, Android, Symbian, Java ME, RIM, Windows Mobile, Flash Lite or the mobile web. His research is being sponsored by O2 and unlike the expensive reports that he writes to put food on the table, the results of this work are going to be made freely available for everyone! Not only that, but two developers who’ve filled out the survey will be chosen at random and win either a 500 EUR or a 250 EUR prize.
