Video: Nokia N900 running Google Earth kind of service through Flash Earth

I’m not sure Google will release the official Google Earth client for the Nokia N900 — at least until they don’t see the platform (now Meego) hitting the mainstream — but that doesn’t mean you can’t access something similar called FlashEarth on your Maemo-powered device. It’s not the “official way,” but it works and that’s the only thing that matters here.

FlashEarth runs through the browser, meaning you’ll have to enable plug-ins (Flash included) in case you they are disabled – and they are by default after the last Firefox update. Then all you need to do is visit flashearth.com and take it from there. It runs pretty smoothly and we love it for that.

As you’re about to see, the video shows the service exploring few sites in Cardiff, Wales, UK like the Millenium Stadium. And now the clip…

Finally in case you’re wondering, FlashEarth pulls the data (satellite and aerial imagery of the Earth) from multiple sources, including NASA and Microsoft.
