Prepaid cell phone service provider Page Plus Cellular added the Kyocera Mako S4000 to its offering. The device is available as of today, March 8th, for $99.95, sans any contracts signed.
The S4000 isn’t too exciting device and won’t impress many with its feature set — it’s a clamshell shaped phone with VGA camera, Bluetooth, WAP browser, and so on. In other words, it’s made for the first time phone buyers or those folks who don’t require more sophisticated features a modern smartphone has to offer.
In the same press release, Page Plus also announced that it will launch its own brand QWERTY keyboard handset within two months. We don’t know which handset manufacturer will actually make the mysterious phone, and we can only guess – maybe it’s some Chinese company like Huawei or ZTE, or possibly Synchronica which has that MessagePhones.
Finally, the carrier reminded us they are already offering one QWERTY device – LG enV.
