
Zerista — the company that powered the mobile social network for this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona — announced that it will launch what they say is the world’s first Mobile Community Platform at DEMO Sprint 2010. According to the press release (which I got via email, if you wonder), it’s the only hybrid solution that “combines best-of-breed elements of custom community platforms, mobile social discovery, and event ticketing and management.” As a result, virtually anyone can quickly create their own socially-enabled mobile applications. In other words, you could think of Zerista’s solution as Ning on (mobile) steroids.

Now I wonder what developers will take from Zerista’s solution. Are we about to see a slew of new applications, all of which are somehow integrated with social networks? Or we’ll end up with select features, only? As far as I see, connecting to the most popular social networks is the “mass market” way, though Zerista could enable some additional features such as ticketing. That single feature should be super interesting for select businesses. We’ll certainly watch where all this goes…
