ABC’s ‘Modern Family’ shills for the iPad

You know what’s not cool? A 30-minute sitcom that turns into an ad for the iPad. That’s exactly what ABC’s “Modern Family” turned out to be last night.

I’ve actually liked the show – anything giving Al Bundy more love is a good thing – but find this to be kind of gross. I’m sure Steve Jobs’ clout with ABC had nothing to do with it either. It also dates the episode terribly. But, I suppose what this really does is show that Apple is aiming big with this device. It’s not going to be for Joe and Jane Tech, this is going to be for every single member of your modern family.
