Good news Vonage users, the company is bringing its VoIP goodness to Android phones on AT&T and T-Mobile.
Now, you can use your Nexus One or Motorola Backflip to make VoIP calls over WiFi or 3G networks. You can either pay per use, or use your monthly plan to make domestic and international calls. Like all VoIP providers, Vonage offers much better rates than the standard telecoms.
“We are focused on ensuring that our customers can enjoy all the benefits of their Vonage service from any location using any device that can access the Internet,” said Michal Tempora, senior VP at Vonage, in a prepared statement. “We will continue to expand our offerings in 2010 to include a robust set of voice and messaging services that utilize WiFi and 3G wireless networks.”
Don’t feel left out if you’re on Verizon Wireless because Skype Mobile is every bit as good of a solution. What’s even better is Verizon using its voice network – free of charge – to ensure a consistent voice quality.
