Those of you sniffing around for Android 2.1 for the Cliq, or international folks looking for a Milestone update since the Droid got its own, there’s this official calendar that gives us a rough idea of when to expect Android 2.1 for various Motorola handsets. Sometime in Q2, the Cliq, Cliq XT, and Milestone (Canada and Latin America) should all be getting the royal treatment, while the Backflip and APAC Dext are going to have to wait until Q3 for 2.1. All other handsets are up in the air.
Android 2.0 includes like Exchange support, a combined inbox, a touchscreen keyboard, HTML5 support in the browser, contact synchronization, and a couple of other small, helpful features. If you’re looking for equally modern alternatives, HTC, LG and Samsung all seem to be getting 2.1 on their upcoming handsets.
