In a move that won’t surprise anyone, Samsung announced yet another entry-level device for the ever-growing Indian mobile market. It’s the Guru 1175 and the Korean company wants Rs. 1,690 (about $37) for an unlocked device — though we’ve also seen MobileStore selling it for Rs. 1,459 (around $32) for the same phone. Go figure…
Anyway, as I said it above, the Guru 1175 is a low-end phone with specs that include a 1.52-inch CSTN screen, FM radio, flashlight and a battery that provides enough juice to keep the device running for up to 12 hours in talk mode, or up to 23 hours when using it for listening to the radio.
Software wise, there are few handy apps pre-installed like Fake Call, SOS messages, Indian calendar, few games; and there’s also the so called Bike Mode that allows users to receive calls only from selected contacts with automatic call answer that instantly receives the call and transfers to the headset.
As a reminder, this isn’t the first Samsung Guru handset we’ve seen. Earlier we had the company unveiling a trio of Guru phones as well as the solar-powered Guru 1107.
