HTC Triumph Headed to TELUS for July or August Launch

Is this the HTC Triumph? :)

Whenever a new movie comes out, one critic out-of-the-crowd inevitably describes it as ‘a triumph’. I don’t get it. WHY is that always the case? Are all movies massive ‘triumphs’? I’m be-fuddled.

While TELUS isn’t in the movie business, they WILL have a triumph to call their own in the near future… and it’s not a hand puppet. The HTC Triumph is coming to TELUS, reportedly sometime in July or August. A little while ago the Triumph showed up in a screenshot from TELUS’ systems, and since then, I’ve been wondering what the new offering from HTC would have in store for us. From what I can tell so far, here’s what it is packing:

  • Android 2.1
  • 3.7″ AMOLED touchscreen (480×800)
  • 1GHz Snapdragon processor
  • 5MP camera with flash and auto-focus
  • WiFi

Granted, there’s got to be more to it than just those specs, but hold on, I guarantee they’re coming. It looks to me like a re-branded HTC Desire for Canadian consumption, but I could be wrong. Although, no, wait… yeah, looks exactly like the Desire.

Stay tuned for more.

Note: In case you were wondering, YES, that is Triumph the Insult Comic Dog pictured above. Seemed somewhat appropriate.
