U.S. Cellular is outing a simple texting phone called the Samsung Messager Touch, available for $49.95 on contract after mail-in rebate. The last phones in the Samsung Messager family made the rounds last summer, following the original Messager the summer before that; this one is breaking the mould by offering a 2.6″ touchscreen. The Messager Touch runs Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, packs a modest 2 megapixel camera, support Bluetooth and microSD memory cards up to 16 GB, and is packed with social networking apps.
Overall, not much to look at, but probably everything an avid texter needs and then some. If you’re looking to pick it up, the Messager Touch will be over here in the U.S. Cellular store.
