Right now, the Galaxy S is spearheading Samsung’s Android lineup, but their current maintsay at the midrange, the Behold II, hasn’t been forgotten. In fact, it’s due for an update from Android 1.5 to 1.6, and according to a Samsung rep on the official forums, it will include Google Maps Navigation, improved media player, as well as Swype and Bluetooth improvements. On the downside, there won’t be any updates after 1.6, presumably because of hardware limitations.
The Behold II didn’t exactly wow our reviewers – it had a decent spec line (Wi-Fi, GPS, 5 megapixel camera, and a 3.2″ 320 x 480 AMOLED touchscreen), but the UI is apparently horrible and awkward. The spinny cube thing is enough to turn me off, that’s for sure, but at least the ads are entertaining.
