Pepsi fans… Unite! We just received a tip pointing us towards a brand new iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad app dubbed ‘Pepsi Loot’.
From the folks at Zumobi, this new application puts you in the drivers’ seat, allowing you to earn the rights to exclusive music, aka, ‘Loot’. Tracks and remixes have been thrown down exclusively for the app, from artists such as Keane, Katherine McPhee, Semi Precious Weapons and many more.
So how do you get your ‘Loot’?
Simple. Much like Foursquare, you’ve got to ‘check-in’ to earn points. All you need to do is visit participating restaurants that serve Pepsi products. Think of these from now on as ‘Pop Spots’. Once there, check-in using the app and you’ll receive a redemption code form your choice of music form a Pepsi-featured artist, OR a download from a catalog that contains a whackload of tunes. Finding participating restaurants isn’t a random thing (thankfully), you can use the app to plot the nearest Pepsi-popping location… This makes it easy (and somewhat fun, especially for Foursquare junkies) to participate and earn new music.
Pepsi Loot is free (of course), and to participate all you need to do is agree to the usual terms and conditions, create a Loot Rewards Account… and you’re off to the races. From there, you can bound your way around your town while drinking Pepsi products and dealing with that sugar high. At least you’ll have some new music in your ears to keep you upbeat when you crash.

Note: I’ve got to say, at first blush this looks like lots of fun. However, I thought the same thing when I first tried out Foursquare, and… well, let’s just say I’m not a big fan. But that’s just me. Give this a shot, you never know, you may enjoy the darn thing! (but please take it easy on the Pepsi consumption)
